Another Morning at Pine Meadow Brook

This is one of my favorite spots.

I'm not surprised, Carl. It's like something out of The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings - mystical and slightly unreal.

Elisabeth - Good call. My mental images of Hobbiton when I read the books 30 years ago look a lot like places I know in the Hudson valley. Growing up on these trails and mountains was a treasure trove of wonderful sights.

Reminds me of a spot along a forgotten road in PA--there are LOTS of those. You wander up a mountain, then suddenly, to your right is a river like this below you, only in mid-summer, the rocks are nearly ALL covered with a thick, velvet moss. I have thought several times of how you would capture the water and rock with your camera. And the sound is like none other, rushing water hitting the softness of the moss. THAT for me says Middle Earth like noplace else I've been.

SO good to start coming back to Blogspot and hit your site first. Your picture is one that I did NOT edit out for showing the house. I look at it every day and smile at my autumn Frost poem picture...

I hope all is going well with you. I should be up and writing again for real by next week some time. First I gotta catch up with what you and others have been up to!

Hi,

Glad you are back!
I have been super busy the six or so months between work and my art. Fresh Paint Gallery is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend! They have done great things with their new space! I'll be heading to the cape for a long weekend soon to get some new images from up there.
I have been bouncing between photo and watercolor. I really turned a corner with my watercolors early in the year!

Talk to ya soon!
Carl
