Iris Painting Sketch

Here is a sketch of the Iris I am going to be painting. This sketch is a departure for me. It was a test for the color scheme I want to work with and as such I did not stress over other things. I just wanted to throw color down to see how they would play together. What I came up with is loose and free and something I am going to strive to carry into the finished painting.

I see what you mean, Carl. There is something of the MOTION that you find in your photography here. I'm not sure I put that well... But I can't wait to see what you do with the "painting." I'm not at all sure that this sketch isn't a hairsbreadth from a painting itself! Have a great weekend.

It is already a painting, and the colours are gorgeous. This is the best way to loosen up and really enjoy it... Just let it do it's own thing, work with it, you'll be surprised at some of the results.

Thanks Jeannette and Stephie! Yes it is quite lovely now. It is just different from my normal stuff. I'd like to explore this more.

You call that a sketch, Carl, to me it could be the end product. It's beautiful.
