Autumn Workshop with Nick Zungoli at Indian Brook Falls.

Well today was a great day!  I went another workshop with Nick Zungoli.  We picked up a location that on a foggy or snowy morning will be fun to shoot.  We ended up at one of my favorite spots... Indian Brook Falls.  The reflected color at around 10am was simply awesome!!  We all ended up with some killer photographs.

Keep Makin' Art!

Now THOSE are fall reflections. I live in Northeastern CT, but still it ain't been all that great.

Those top two pictures really capture the color, don't they.

What sorts of things do you learn at the workshops? More about how to maximize your camera?

Hi Jeannette - Yes. I got my geography mixed up. It has been an odd fall color here and color there, but not the big show... I think the storms had a lot to do with it. Nick's workshops are structured half day in the field and half day in his studio. We meet up early at a location he chooses that should allow everyone to get great photos. He keeps the group small works with everyone one on one depending on what they need. for me it is about finding the composition in the camera so I can avoid cropping on the computer and also keeping the images simple and well designed. After the shooting we go back to his gallery and review each persons photos giving some advice and then finding that persons shot of the day and showing how to work on the raw file and in photoshop to get the best printed result. It is a great day and we have a lot of fun.

Wow!! You have really got some great water pictures. I didn't know you could do that with a camera!!

Lovely. The water looks like liquid gold.

Hi Wendy - It was there how you see it. We just had to setup our cameras and go to work on composing the shots. It was a great morning. I don't mind getting my feet wet for shots like these.

Pat - Thanks Mom. If the weather is nice we could head back there Sunday and see if we can get some of the reflections or we could try Stonybrook again.

The first three are run-away successes. They are all top shots, but the first three are exceptional, having ticks in all the boxes plus being so unusual.

Thank You Dave - You hit on the reason I keep taking workshops. To get pushed a little to see differently and not miss the shit in front me while I rush to my objective ... like the waterfall. The three top shots were on the way to the fall and on another day I might have noticed and thought i would have shot them on the way back. Good thing I didn't... the light changed and the reflection was gone on the way back.
