Tools of the Trade...

I photographed my watercolor brushes in front of my late Father-In-law's toolbox.  I call this series Tools of the trade.  These are just trial shots to see if the idea could work.  I think I am onto something here and may try this again in a more series attempt.

The Old Pocket Watch - Revisited

I took a chance to revisit the old pocket watch I photographed about a month ago.  this time I used my LensBaby double glass setup with closeup lenses.  I may need to buy a few broken old watches and make s series of these.

I am reminded you can find art in the most mundane items if you just look at them differently!

Fresh Paint Gallery - Cape Cod

I cannot believe it has been a whole week since I last blogged.  Time is just running away from me.  I made a quick trip up to Cape Cod yesterday to hang images at Fresh paint Gallery.  I am very happy to be back in my home gallery on the Cape and am looking forward to a busy season and all the artists at Fresh Paint having a tremendous year.  I now have a nice mix of things going on.  Besides the Fresh paint I am also at Flywheel Gallery in Piermont, NY and will be in the St Catherine of Bologna show in Ringwood NJ in March.  Also on the books are two solo shows for this year.  I am off to the races in 2012!

Culinary Institute of America - Brian and Stephanie's Pairings Dinner

When my friend Brian mentioned his upcoming graduation from the Culinary Institute, I thought OK he's going to ask me to get photos of him getting his diploma and with his folks or something... Then he told me his plan that he and his friend Stephanie were planning on hosting a 12 course meal for their instructors as a  thank you and he wanted me to shoot the behind the scenes stuff in the kitchen and the food I jumped at the chance.  It gave me an opportunity to use some photographic skills I don't often get a chance to use.  The dinner was a smashing success.  Congrats to Brian and Stephanie on a job well done.  I spent 10 hours with these guys on Saturday and here are a few of the pictures.

Ode to an Ugly Lighthouse....

What do you do when faced with photographing an ugly lighthouse (I did not know there was such a thing) ... Show off the sky!  That is what I did when I was taking this shot of Sanibel Island Light in Florida.

Quick Trip to Florida

We spent the weekend visiting with wendy's Mom and Al in Fort Myers Florida.  These are a couple of sunrise shots I took on our first morning there.  They are a little noisy because I did not have a tripod and had to push the ISO to hand hold the exposures, but I just love the color.  It was a great trip and I will post some more photos from the trip this week.
