Purple Irises in Late Afternoon Light

I caught these wonderful purple irises in my friend Terry's garden.  They were bathed in beautiful golden end of day light.  The light was fleeting and cooled down as the sun lazily drifted into the western horizon.  A great end to a nice long weekend.  Summer is off to a great start.

Iris. One of my favorite flowers... Such pretty color. I've been keeping a watchful eye out for the ones in the backyard. No sign of them yet!

Vicki - Yeah you are still a bit north of us. I expect you will see them in the next week. They are one of my favorites as well.

Dave - The more I look at flowers the more I see. There is still much more to capture about them. I am really finding some nice images by going in tight finding detail.

Don't forget to start looking at the bottom of this flower or from the back of other flowers. You'd be surprised.
