Infrared
On my way home this afternoon I was lucky enough to wander around Orange County photographing barns. It is the perfect time of year for infrared photos. Lots of greens and strong skies are perfect. Do you prefer the color ones or the traditional B&Ws?
Tomorrow I plan to head to Sullivan and Ulster Counties for more photos.

NYC Morning
Photos from a recent morning wandering around Grand central and the New York Public Library. All photos taken on a Mamiya M645 camera with 80mm f2.8 lens on Ilford HP5 120 size film. Work flow is much more streamlined in digital photography, but there is something really satisfying about shooting on film and and scanning. It is much more deliberate.

Storm Clouds Gather in the 'Gunks
Had a family lunch up at the Moutain Brau House in the Shawangunks yesterday. We were early so I stopped at the overlook above the first hairpin turn heading to Minnewaska. Was able to catch these beautiful B&Ws of storm clouds above New Paltz. Lesson... Always have a camera with you.

Hoboken Station - Black and White
I took these shots of a people waiting at the Hoboken Station waiting room about a month ago. Hoboken (and the train station) were under water from Hurricane Sandy. I hope this historic building with its Tiffany glass ceiling survived the storm. I will head down there again in a few weeks to see what things look like.

More from Tuxedo Power Station
Two more images from Tuxedo power station. These were shot on my Fuji rangefinder camera. It makes 6x9cm (That's 2.25 x 3.25 inch negatives) the giant negatives coupled with the incredibly sharp lens on the camera make for a file I should be able to print almost 40 x 60 inches. I can't wait to do some tests and see how these look. The detail in the bricks and the background trees is really great.
More to come with this camera now that I have the exposure fairly dialed in. I want to wander new York City with this camera soon.

Old Tuxedo Power Station
shot with RB67 on on Ilford delta 100 Film
6x7cm Negative
Wonderful tonality! I really like this one. I should be able to get a 30x40" print out of this file. I can't wait to get it printed.

Harriman State Park- Tiorati Brook
Saturday was a 'two-fer' I got back out into the park a second time and hike up along Tiorati brook. I have enclosed color and black and white images to show the differences. Which way do you prefer them?

Waterfalling Part Three - the Black & Whites
I picked three images from both Watkins Glen and Buttermilk Falls to do as black and whites with a nice warm tone. I am at a loss for which I like better. The color shots are quite nice, but I think there is something very special about how they look in B&W.
What do you think? Color or B&W?

Waterfalls in B&W
I just love the way the shots from this weekend turned out in B&W. They are so rich with detail and texture.
