All over Italy on bridges we found these knots of padlocks. My friend Dave over at "picks and poems" had written a poem in answer to what these are a few months ago.
Hi Carl, came over from Kate Hanley's. I've just come back from Paris and Florence (where I think that photo was taken). They are indeed lover's pledges. I put one there for my son and his fiance. I think it started in Paris but can't be sure, rather nice tradition I think.
