The Weavers at 65… A Benefit for the Beacon Sloop Club

 Pete Seeger
 Tom Chapin
Pete tells the audience a story.

Tonight was a special treat a benefit for the Beacon Sloop Club at the Towne Crier in Beacon.  It starred "The Work of the Weavers", Pete Seeger and Tom Chapin to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Pete Seeger's group the Weavers.  These are not the best photos I have ever taken, but they are good enough to celebrate this special night.  Alas I am hoarse from singing old folk songs and it is late,  The alarm to start the work week will come all to early…..

Autumn 2013 - Minisceongo Creek

It was a beautiful fall Sunday morning at Minisceongo Creek.  It was awesome to be out scrambling among the rocks and photographing the flowing water.

Autumn in Harriman State Park

Yesterday afternoon I took a hike in the woods at Harriman State Park.  It was good for my outlook and balance to hike.  I came away with these beautiful fall scenes.  I am really glad I got the chance to take some fall photos.  I was afraid this year I would not have another chance.  As I walked along I thought of my friend the poet and blogger Dave King who recently passed away.  It will be strange not seeing his posts here and I will miss reading his latest poems daily.  His support of this blog helped me to keep it going over times I wanted to set it aside and I think because of him I will continue to post my latest photos and thoughts here.

The View from my Handlebars II

I was treated to this lovely view this morning while out on the Heritage Trail in Goshen, NY.  It sure makes getting out of bed and putting 20 miles on your bike easy when you get treated to the beauty of Autumn in NY.

Autumn in NY

It was a beautiful (for photographers anyway) foggy, rainy morning here in New York.  I headed to one of my favorite spots.  Minisceongo Creek in Stony Point, NY.

Michael and Xuan's Wedding - NYC

I had the great honor of photographing the wedding of my Cousin Michael and his lovely bride Xuan This past Saturday in NYC.  They were a blast to photograph.  We did some photos up on the High Line (a park created from abandoned elevated freight train tracks on the west side of Manhattan) and at the ceremony.  It was a real treat to get to document their big day.  I wish them a lifetime of joy and happiness together!

I was a bit nervous having not photographed a wedding in ten years, but it was like riding a bicycle and came back to me quickly.  I also had the benefit of Wendy being my assistant and suggesting shots.  We made a great team.

In the past three weeks I have done a model shoot and a wedding.... Not my normal stuff and all the more satisfying because of it.

My Paintings at Flywheel Gallery!

After two years as a member and tw successful solo photography shows I have finally gotten up the courage to put a few of my watercolors up in the new group show in the traditional gallery at Flywheel Gallery.  They will be on display for the next 6 weeks.  If you are in the area stop into the gallery and take a look.
