Film

The developed film and contact sheets from my London trip is waiting on my doorstep...

The hours will drag until I can get home and start scanning the negatives.

More London Photos

OK.  I think completes the London Photos until the B&W film gets back from the lab.  Then I should have a bunch more to share.  I hope you have enjoyed my quick trip to London.

London Photos

Here are the first few images from our trip to London this passed weekend.  We had an amazing time.  What a great city.

Tube Station at Trafalgar Square

Fountain at Trafalgar with National Gallery in the background.

The ubiquitous and essential London taxi

The London Eye.  It dominates the landscape down by the Thames.

Jubilee Bridge.

I just shipped seven rolls of B&W film off to the lab.  It will be about a week before they are back so most of the images I will work on this week are color photos.  Also I will be attending the NYBG Orchid show this weekend so I will have some of those for you next week as well.

London Days 3 and 4

Day 3- Beautiful long walk passed the palace and onto the area around Harrods.  Dinner was amazing at Jamie Oliver's restaurant Barbecao.  I had loin of venison in mole sauce.  The hotel allowed us up on the roof to take photos of Trafalgar Square.  Great view!  I will post next week.

Day-4 - Scored tickets to Spamalot for tonight.  Walked to Coven Garden Market and went back to the National Gallery to see the Frederick Edward Church paintings we missed on our first go through the museum.

Absolutely great trip.  I am heading home tomorrow and Wendy starts her business meetings.  I'll post photos when I get back.

London - Day Two

Our foursome was completed today (Saturday), our friend John arrived to join our merry group.  Today we went to the National Gallery and then saw the musical Once.  It was brilliant!  Sunday is Easter Sunday.  Looking forward to more exploring London on foot.  Travel with Wendy is always fun, but having our dear friends Laura and John here just make it even more special.

PS blogging without photos is odd to me.  Trust me I am taking plenty of photos of this beautiful city and will post when I arrive at home.

London - Day 1

We arrived early Friday morning on an overnight flight.  Wendy and our friend Laura  and I checked in, got some coffee and started our adventure... Most of the day was spent walking down by the Thames and the West end.  We had a couple of great meals.... Sandwiches at the Sherlock Holmes pub near Traflgar and an amazing Italian dinner.  Put in about 8 hours of walking and went out to take some night photos for a few hours.  It is near freezing here, but we had a great first day.  Looking forward to museum and theater today and more photos.  London is a great city to wander and explore.  I will start posting some photos next week.

Update

I have gathered some of my favorite black and white images.  Both from film and digital and will be sending them off to Digital Silver Imaging for traditional fiber based silver halide prints that will be hand toned.  I can't wait to see them.  These will be test images for my July solo show.  I am also prepping for a trip to London. I will be shooting both film and digital and am trying to narrow down what gear to bring.  I have never been to London and love exploring new cities without too much planning.  I will share some of the results with you when I have a chance.

St Catherine of Bologna Art Show - Ringwood, NJ

This weekend was the 14th annual St Catherine of Bolgna art show in Ringwood, New Jersey.  This is my fourth year of entering photos in this great local show.  There were over 830 pieces entered in this year's show.  Each year I am amazed at the work that goes in to putting on a show of this size and the talent of the local artists who enter their photos, paintings, sculpture and poetry.  I was honored and humbled to win some awards this year again.  I would like to thank the judges and the wonderful folks who make this show such a big hit each and every year.

No Drawing Today...

Hi

I did not get home until 10pm and just could not figure out what to work on.  I will do a drawing tonight.  I am too inspired these days not to.
On a different note if you are local to the New York - New Jersey area this weekend is one of my favorite events of the year.  The art show at St Catherine of Bologna in Ringwood, NJ.  One weekend every March this church in tiny Ringwood, NJ gets converted into a SOHO gallery.  This year there will be over 830 pieces in the show including three of my photos.  I love to wander this show and see the work of all the talented local artists and am thankful to be part of a community that cares about art.  If you have the chance stop by the show you will not be disappointed.  I will only get a chance to stop by briefly on Friday night this year.  Normally I get a whole gang of family and friends and we spend Saturday afternoon wandering up and down the aisles.
Next up for us is a trip to visit family in Florida and then we are going to London for a short trip.  I have never been there and am looking forward to wandering with my cameras.
